Importing Meshes
You can import meshes saved to different file formats into Dragonfly. During the file import process, the Mesh Import dialog will appear as shown below. This dialog lists statistics related to the mesh being imported and allows you to change the scale, if required.

Indicates the name of the selected mesh. You can edit the name, if required. |

Provides the dimensions of the mesh, as follows: Width… Indicates the width of the mesh in the selected default units. Height… Indicates the height of the mesh in the selected default units. Depth… Indicates the depth of the mesh in the selected default units. |

Units are not defined… |
Appears only if the scale units are not defined in the mesh file. You can select the required scale units in the drop-down list. |
- Choose File > Import Mesh Files on the menu bar.
- Select the file you need to import in the Open dialog.
- Click the Open button.
- Do the following in the Mesh Import dialog, if required:
- Enter a new name for the mesh in the Dataset name edit box, optional.
- Select the scale units to use, if they are not defined in the file.
- Click OK.
The mesh appears in the Data Properties and Settings panel. See Mesh Properties and Settings for information about making a mesh visible in a scene and about the information and settings available in the lower section of the panel.
You can configure the following actions for importing meshes in the Preferences dialog. See Configurable Actions for information about modifying a default action.
